A sonda Straplex alcançou a estratosfera, a mais de 30 quilómetros de altitude. The probe Straplex reached the stratosphere, more than 30 kilometers in altitude.

No dia 15 de Setembro, a Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP) enviou uma sonda rumo à estratosfera, a partir do Aeródromo de Évora. On Sept. 15, the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP) sent a probe toward the stratosphere from the Aerodrome of Évora.

A viagem, que durou duas horas, teve o apoio da Agência Espacial Europeia (ESA) e serviu para testar o comportamento de amostras de sangue e dispositivos electrónicos em ambiente de microgravidade. The trip, which lasted two hours, had the support of the European Space Agency (ESA) and served to test the behavior of blood samples and electronic devices in the microgravity environment.

As experiências transportadas a bordo da pequena sonda foram preparadas por universidades e escolas da Bélgica, Espanha e Suécia. The experiments carried on board the small probe was prepared by universities and schools in Belgium, Spain and Sweden.

Depois da viagem rumo a estratosfera, a Straplex soltou-se do balão que a transportava, e iniciou a viagem descendente – acabando por só ser recuperada no dia seguinte. After the journey towards the stratosphere, the Straplex tore up the balloon that carried, and began descending the trip - only to be ultimately recovered the next day.

Para evitar estes e outros percalços, o Departamento de Engenharia de Electrónica e de Computadores da FEUP está já a preparar uma nova versão da Straplex. To avoid these and other mishaps, the Department of Electronic Engineering and Computer's FEUP is preparing a new version of Straplex.

O famoso e polémico jogo, já disponível para PS3 e Xbox 360, vai chegar ao PC ainda antes do próximo Natal. The famous and controversial game, now available for PS3 and Xbox 360 will reach the PC before the next Christmas.

Depois de muitos rumores, a Rockstar confirmou que está a desenvolver uma versão do Grand Theft Auto IV para PC. After many rumors, confirmed that the Rockstar is developing a version of Grand Theft Auto IV for PC. Segundo a editora, o jogo tirará partido das vantagens permitidas pelo PC e incluirá um novo e muito melhorado modo multijogador. According to the publisher, the game will benefit from the advantages allowed by the PC and will include a new and much improved multiplayer mode.

Recorde-se que este título foi alvo de muita polémica porque o jogador assume o papel de criminoso e, para progredir no jogo, tem de levar a cabo missões onde a violência é evidente. Remember that this title was the subject of much controversy because the player assumes the role of criminal, and to progress in the game, has to perform tasks where violence is evident.
